  15 PEN   PEN Mile (GIII)

ughhhh… ol Penn National, where the wind never stops blowing.  It’s a big night up here as we catch a field of seven sophomores set to go a flat mile on the weeds in the PEN Mile (GIII), with a nice $400.00 purse.

A bunch of these come out of the American Turf (GI) at CD, including the winner and runner up, and that explains where my picks are coming from.  Reign Supreme has won three of his last four and was third in the other, a graded race at KEE, so it’s hard for me to go past the MB Stables trained turf monster.  Can they beat him, sure…but I’ll have to see it.

Yellowbrick Road was second in that CD turf stakes and, again, I’ll stick with that scenario.  He was eighth in that Transylvania (GIII) race, but has stakes wins at the flat mile distance, and I think he runs a big on here today.

The Card is loading up on the three horse… I’m guessing most people will be.
