Six-Pack of Sprinting Sophomore Fillies Set to Go Seven Furlongs in Raven Run at KEE

10/23/21

  6   KEE      Raven Run (GII)

         $250.000   3yoF    7f  Dirt   122lbs

A small but talented group of 3yo filly fighters in the Raven Run (GII) at KEE on Saturday, but let’s face it, what would a punk like me know about the subject?  Still, we have a job to do so let’s take a look and there’s nothing like taking Mb Stables in these small fields, so let’s go with Mycrazyxgirlfriend today.  I know she hasn’t won since March, but she’s been close in a number of graded races and could be sitting on a big win today.  Another that deserves a serious look is Franchise Filly.  She’s has been around when they had out black-type checks, certainly has speed, and looked good winning at WO last out.  The Green Card has Miss Atomic Bomb on top, and he’s been hot picking of late, so don’t leave her out…

Here’s The Field –

1
Lady Sammyantha    The Sidley Stud    Beschizza A   122   7/1

Real hit-or-miss type that won the Chicago (GIII) at AP then came back to be eighth in the Test (GI) but won again at WO taking the Bison City Stakes before only beating one horse last out in the Cotillion (GI) at PRX.  She shortens back up for this one, and it may be a bit lighter than either of those grade one efforts, so she could make some noise today.

2
   Mycrazyxgirlfriend    Mb Stables    Hernandez R M   122   5/2

The big stable has done a good job with her this season knocking down tow wins and a trio of other on the board finishes, so she may be the one to get past today.  She hasn’t won since March, but has been on the board in her last three including a pair of graded races and a nice purse last out in the Dogwood at CD.  She really doesn’t run a bad race, so give her a serious look.

3
Miss Atomic Bomb    Aarons Hosses    Zayas E J   122   6/1

Got her first stakes win (DH) last out in the Sheer Drama at GP which was a nice bounce back after that poor finish in the Victory Ride where she just never fired as the post time favorite.  Another like that last out could certainly put her in contention with this group and she may come with some odds.

4
Magic Centre    TwinTowersRacing    Gonzalez Ru   122   10/1

Another solid contender that has been close in just about every start except for that last of fourteen finish in the BEL Oaks.  Now that was at a mile and a quarter and on the grass, so just chuck that out the window and concentrate on her dirt sprints where she’s been around, in most cases.  This is a tough spot, so she will need her best.

5
Franchise Filly    Sharis Stables    Contreras L   122   6/1

Got back to the winning ways taking down Ont-bred horses in the Algoma Stakes at WO last out.  That was her first win since taking the Glitter Woman at GP in her first ’21 start.  She’ been close in a few graded races as well, so her best could put her in the middle of things when they come down the lane.

6
Dirty Storm    Arindel    Garcia Mar   122   9/2

Struggled over this surface in her only seasonal stakes effort when eighth of nine in the Ashland (GI).  She was second in the Spinaway (GI) as a 2yo, but most of her other graded starts have been somewhat forgettable.  Can she flip the script and get back on track today?

COZMAN   2 / 5                          Willie’s Green Card      3 / 2
