Taniwha Rises as Turf Star in The Pan American

The Pan American – Grade II
1 1/2 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $250.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Taniwha                Aml Racing            Gutierrez Mario
Aml Racing should be taking a  trip down south to shake Yahudi’s hand as this one made it three in a row for his new owner with a game neck win. Perfectly ridden he lapped up this trip and must be among the favourites already for the BC Turf.

2nd   Techfluence  The Sidley Stud  Bejarano R
Many had this one on their ticket after two dominant wins this year but though he came close he could not outbattle Taniwha today. I wonder whether this race came a bit quick for the five year old but there didnt seem to be any other excuses in an evenly run race.

3rd   Sean Hannity  Maxmillion Farm  Maldonado E
I havent seen this one make the running before but today he shot to a clear lead but predictably as happens at HRP he weakened even after getting away with fairly cheap splits. Only a couple back in the end his trainer may well be a bit disappointed with this effort although he was beaten by two of the best tufers around at the moment.

4th   Bring The Pain  Mb Stables  Colon L H
Was taken back off a steady pace and  it was always going to be tough to make up ground. He did well enough in the end to finish fourth but never looked like being any closer.
