Taniwha ran on from second place taking a three quarters of a length lead, closed down in the home stretch holding on to win The Secretariat Stakes by a neck.

How they ran.

Taniwha going close up early racing in second, improved position to take a three quarters of a length lead, closed down in the home stretch going on to win by a neck.

Crafty Shenanigans settled and raced in fourth, three lengths off the pace, then made steady headway to be closing at the finish, getting up to finish second.

Punching Bag started and raced in third and finished there, beaten by three quarters of a length.

Deep Down broke first going a length clear of the field, challenged and passed dropping to finish fourth, beaten by a length.

Limato settled at the rear of the field, six lengths off the pace, ran on strongly to finish fifth, beaten by two lengths.

Turn Ninnie started and raced in fifth, five lengths off the pace, then stayed on at one pace being passed in the home stretch to finish last of the six, beaten by six lengths.
