1  Undisputed  Mb Stables  Silvera Ru 122 —

These KYO qualifiers took on a different meaning last year when many of the most forward fillies were aimed at the KYD qualifiers to take advantage of the weight system here at HRP which seemed to give them a clear advantage over their male counterparts. What we did learn last year is that the advantage didn’t last through to the KYD so that may change a few plans this season but what it does do is give us a much more open fillies division when it comes to KYO qualifiers. Thus here we have a once raced maiden with a decent chance and although the stable has its usual three entries you cannot write this one off despite her inexperience. Her only run didn’t come in a maiden as you would expect it actually came in a turf stakes race where she ran a cracker from a tough draw to be second. By the stables break out stallion Tactical she could well be the overlooked one in this race.

2  Lindt  Hippyheart  Velazquez J R 122 —

This home bred took a while to get the hang of things but after taking a big ticket maiden at DMR when set over the mile for the first time she has not looked back. She went straight from that impressive maiden win to the grade one Frizette where she stayed on well to be sixth in a decent effort. Her last start came in an optional claimer where she showed improvement on the clock to take the race and comes here a live chance from the perfect draw.

3  Silly Relleno  Rock Creek  Jaramillo E 122 —

Went to a sprint maiden on the turf for her debut run and duly did the business for a win in her only start. I don’t think we have to put any weight on the fact that it was a sprint or on the turf as she has worked well enough on the dirt to suggest she will act on it and her sire brings some stamina to the bloodline. She is difficult to assess with just one start but with this good draw and competitive work times there is no reason why she wouldn’t have a chance.

4  Twilight Time  Fractious  Saez L 122 —

There is plenty of form around this one including a strong second in the Pocahontas and a strong finish in the Demoiselle last time. She certainly loves this sort of trip and carries some residual fitness from her last start so must be a contender on the strength of her exposed form. Her works don’t stand out but to be honest everything at this level works the same anyway so it must be the form that we look at and hers stacks up pretty well.

5  Sweet Feet  Mb Stables  Hernandez R M 122 —

I love the naming process around this one but her form is a bit tough to read with most of her efforts being on the turf. As i have said before surface doesn’t mean much in this game and after some good efforts on the grass she showed she goes just as well on dirt with a strong allowance win at FG last time. She too carries fitness from her last start which came from a wide draw and she represents another strong hope from the leading trainer.

6  Silver Kailua  TwinTowersRacing  Gaffalione T 122 —

The one thing this trainer never does is duck a challenge with their horses but this one faces a tough task on her known form. The winner fo one from six her works are good enough but as we know works don’t mean diddley these days so we only have her form to really go on. I have said this before about this stables runners and been proved wrong more than once but i have t say i am not sure she is good enough to beat off the principals in this race.

7  Rekindle  Mb Stables  Franco M 122 —

Another that chose turf as a juvenile but i think that was more to do with the sheer numbers the stable has and the need to point some to the juvenile turf so i don’t put too much importance on her seeming preference for the grass. Her good fourth from a tough draw in the Durante proved she will stay this trip and her dirt works are, you guessed it, the same as everything else so there is no reason she wont be good enough to get into this race.

8  Scam Dancer  TwinTowersRacing  Cedillo A 122 —

I think this is the better if the two stable runners as she has proved herself over the trip and surface but this is a step up in grade and she has to answer a few questions before you can get too enthusiastic about her chances.

9  Sneaky Panther  Nakamura Stables  Centeno D E 122 —

Getting out towards the cheap seats we see another filly who has her best efforts on turf but her dirt works certainly suggest that as usual the surface means very little here at HRP. Her form is only fair but her works suggests she is better than that so if you are looking for an outsider then this one could be at decent odds.

10  To Sheila  South Shore Stables  Worrie A S 124 —

Carries a penalty into this race and along with the tough draw that may well end her chances. Good enough to compete in the BC last year on the turf she hasn’t got the dirt form to put her in this race.

11  Just Want Peace  Gdp Inc  Hernandez C J 122 —

Only managed to break her maiden on her fourth attempt and that was at FL so again doesn’t have the sort of form that a few have in this race. Her works though say that she has found a bit since that maiden win and although she faces a tough task from the draw a decent effort would not be a surprise.

12  Bravo My Beast  Waldo  Alvarado F T 122 —

Into the car park we go and here we find the final runner who is certainly not out of this race despite the obvious disadvantage of the draw. An impressive maiden winner at MTH she backed that up with an equally impressive drubbing of a competitive allowance field at SAR. From there she went to the Demoiselle where she was possibly unsuited by the off track and ended up fifth. Her works haven’t been outstanding but there is plenty to like about her form and if there was one that may upset the applecart it could be her.

SUMMARY

A very tough race to work out there may be a few scenario’s that play out here and it is just a matter of committing to one. If there is some pressure up front then the inside draws may have an advantage but of it isn’t too mad early on and Bravo My Beast can slot in the she could be at rewarding odds. The draw however can play a big part in these races so Lindt could well come out on top along with the promising maiden Undisputed.
