Coronation Futurity is Taken by a Brudda

Coronation Futurity (P3)
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $250.00 Open 2 Year Olds Foaled In Canada.

1st    Bruddafrmanuddamudda      Arindel       Saez G

His effort in the Cup and Saucer was a bit of a surprise but he proved that was no fluke with an impressive victory here cruising home by two lengths. I think the moisture in the track suited him but nonetheless this was a comprehensive win for what looks like a versatile improver. I still maintain he will be a bit better on turf so he is definitely one to put into the black book.

2nd    Brave Freedom       Nakamura Stables      Court J K

Tried hard to make the lead but couldn’t get there and it was that expenditure of energy coupled with a wide gate which may have blunted his finish at the end. He is three from three now with awkward gates and one feels when he gets some random luck from it he will be a lot better.

3rd   Gendarmerie       Mo Mentum Farm        Hernandez R M

Closed up nicely but flattened out in the last furlong and couldn’t finish off, that may have been down to the off track so we will have to see how he improves from this.

4th   Declassification      Smokey Stover      Boulanger G

Stalked the leaders and looked to be going well but also floundered down the stretch, not a bad effort but only time will tell whether it was the going or the ability that affected his effort.
