1st Caymanas Park, trained by Night Rider Stables
I thought the key to this ones success would be where he went in the early running and it really couldn’t have gone better in the end. Off the pace was essential for this gelding but it is easy to leave too much to do over a sprint trip and that was the telling factor. Second last for much of the race he was never that far away from the leaders and when brought wide in the stretch his turn of foot just got him home. I must admit I never thought he would get there but he was game and brave and managed to give weight and a nose beating to his rival. This is an honest and tough sprinter who will be right in it in November when the best sprinter is decided.

2nd Beyondourgrasp, trained by Nakamura Stables
I thought this colt may run better than his odds suggested and he ran so well he very nearly won. In only his second sprint he managed to stay with them pretty well early on before hitting the front inside the distance. The winner had the last shout though and he just got worried out of it in the shadows of the post. This was a good effort but leaves the trainer with a dilemma as to what is his best trip and surface.

3rd Don’t tell Master, trained by Wynnewood
Another tough natural sprinter he ran his heart out for a gutsy third off top weight. This was much better than his last race failure and he looks as if he is back to his best and that that last run was just an aberration.

4th Ivory Towers, trained by Stald Gullis
Was made favourite for the race which I found a bit bemusing but he ran pretty well to be fourth after showing his usual speed.

The rest:
Just Wiggle It, showed early speed to lead but found disappointingly little when asked to do more at the end of the race, Four Winds was given far too much to do and De Oppresso Liber also ran on but was never dangerous. Having said that with just one length covering the whole field this was another example of the ridiculous closeness of finishes at HRP and if you believe the finishing margins you would have to say that the top weights were far superior in this race.
