The Gazelle Looks Like Data Overload

The Gazelle – Grade III (P5) [KYO]
AQU Race #4 1 1/8m Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $300.000 For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 Local Lass D J C Racing Stables Lezcano J

A consistent sort in overnights but a failure at this level so far in her fairly busy career so far. She has had fair form at ungraded level but got two horror draws and ran two poor races when facing graded stakes class. With this better draw she gets her chance today but its not an obvious one and she would have to step up on what she has done so far.

2 Data Overload Mb Stables Jaramillo E

As with so many class horses at HRP she finished last beaten nine lengths on her debut as a two year old once again showing just how far we are from reality with regards to a horses first run here. Since then however, she has proved herself very useful coming here with three straight wins to her name the most recent being at stakes level in the Busher. Trained by the best in the game, 3 wins in a row and the draw that everyone wants, put her on your win ticket.

3 Save To Maps Jive Inc. Lopez P

Bought for $135 after a stakes win he did very well in her first run for the new owner when third in the Santa Ysabel Stakes. Running a loose stalk i was a little disappointed in how she failed to go on with her effort but she kept on well enough and was only beaten a length. The trip is my biggest worry as i feel she is more of a sprinter/ miler.

4 Risen Day LionKing Stables Lanerie C J

One of the most under rated players in the game LionKing Stables doesn’t spend money lightly so the fact that they went to $70 at auction to get this one says she is one to take a longer look at. Indeed her record is very impressive with a win in the grade two Demoiselle, a grade one second and a close sixth in the BC Juvenile fillies but the thing i guess that puts a nail in her shoe has nothing to do with her form. Her work times have gone from a 1.36 and 4 as a two year old to a 1.38 as a three year old for the mile which is a real mystery as she has a strong conformation and no reason to be deteriorating. Can she bounce back today against all the odds? Well if its going to happen it will have to be today because i feel if it doesnt she may be visiting a stallion very soon.

5 Lil Baby Bomber Aer Stables Sanchez M J

Another one that placed at grade one as a juvenile and ran pretty well in the BC she too was a little disappointing on seasonal debut. Staying on she ended up third in the Martha Washington, not a bad effort but not great either. Can she win today, well the answer is yes she has the form and some fair works plus of course Aer Stables at the helm which this year seems to be a big plus.

6 Mad Mistress Jokerjoes Castellano J

Up to her last start she would have been a confident choice for this but her run in the Honeybee was terrible. Third beaten less than a length in the BC Juvenile fillies last year she started this season with a brilliant run to be beaten just a head in the Las Virgenes and that form would be good enough to make her a strong hope here…then you look at that last start. Stalking the pace she fell away tamely in the Honeybee to end up a well beaten seventh and whilst that looked a poor effort it should be noted that she was drawn wide that day and tried to chase a very fast pace so it may be false form.

7 Blonde Bomber Smokey Stover Alvarado J

The grade one Frizette winner last year she was given plenty of time after the BC Juvenile failure and looked to have benefited on seasonal debut when an easy winner of an overnight at OP. The trainer has a knack with the fillies so she could well be a very viable alternative to the Mb runner.
8 Leing Fu Rock Creek Smith M E

This will either prove to be the worst buy ever or the best after this race but i cant help thinking that the $390 that was paid for this filly may have been a little steep. Having said that the filly ran very well in the Demoiselle last
year when third and didnt do bad in the Busanda when second so this may be an inspired purchase, only time will tell. In her last start she was drawn wide and the race engine killed her chances by making her dispute a suicidal early pace so it was no surprise she ended up last in the Santa Ysabel Stakes.

9 Antiquated Story Nakamura Stables Carmouche

The Nak factor will certainly be needed from this draw but this filly has form that is good enough even if her works seem a little slack. Third in the Golden Rod at the end of last year she had her chances ruined by the race engine first up this season but came back from a better draw to take the The May last time out. She has chances but will need some luck.

10 Ebony Beauty Tiratzo Hernandez J J

Apart from a terrible run in wet conditions this filly has been nicely consistent and i really liked her fourth in the Demoiselle last time out. The draw of course makes things tough for her but she handles a similar draw last time out and could be the one to back at long odds today.

11 Coconut Princess Rampage Stable Rosario J

Lightly raced but this filly clearly has ability for a stable that so often flies under the radar. Consistent form through her first four starts her big test came last time out when taking on the Davona Dale and she ran a cracker ending up fifth beaten just one length. Since then she has worked a 1.36 and 3 which is as good as anything in this race and if she can get some luck from this draw i think she may go very close.

13 Charming Beauty Nakamura Stables Talamo J

Two runs, one win, average works and the outside post….no hope? Well lets not forget the Nak factor!

SUMMARY

There are a few chances here but everything i can find to beat the obvious choices has a wide draw so i may just have to go for the safe bet. So it’s Data Overload for the win but i am going for Coconut Princess to get into the finish along with Lil Baby Bomber and Blonde Bomber
