The Reaper Wins The Bayakoa

The Bayakoa – GIII
OP Race 1 1 1/16M – Dirt
Purse $200.000
Four Years Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

1st The Reaper, trained by John Henry

Well the old classy mare in the field got the job done in this spot and she ran a hack of a race to win. She stalked the place early on and then edged clear late to get up and win by a head. She ran a very good race and proved that she still has what it takes to compete with these runners. She ran the race in 1:42.26 and earned $120.000 for the win.

2nd Ineffable, trained by TwinTowers Racing

Once again this mare just couldn’t get her first graded stakes win and this was her closest defeat yet. She made most of the running and was very close or even on the lead in most parts of the race. She tried to hold off the charge of the winner but she just couldn’t hold on for the win.

3rd Goosebumps, trained by Smokey Stover

Now this filly right here also ran a pretty good race to close for a third place finish. She sat towards the rear early on and then came with a nice closing kick to get up for third. She only got beat by three quarters of a length so she wasn’t beaten far at all. She ran a very respectable third.

4th Enoughs Enough, trained by Mb Stables

Also not a bad run from the filly either as she only ended up getting beat by a length for it all. She was midpack early on in the race and made up a little bit of ground to come and get the fourth place spot. I did think she was going to run a little bit better but she didn’t run a terrible race.

Summary

Well the old classy mare of the field showed the young ones what was up with her victory in this race. She ran a huge race to get the win and showed she still has it. It was a very nice race and not much separated the field at all. Congratulations to The Reaper and her trainer John Henry.
