1  Holy Iron    High Voltage    Hernandez H

These later season juvenile races can throw up the odd improver and this may well turn out to be that type of filly. She ran respectively in a couple of maidens before easily winning a maiden claimer last time where she was claimed by her current owner. I would be pretty high on this one if this race was over a mile or more but she comes back to six furlongs today and that may be a bit sharp for her. Mark my words though this one s a lot better than a claimer.

Won her first two races, one of them on turf but then suffered two defeats but there may have been good reasons for both. The first came in an ungraded stakes on dirt where she failed to fire finishing a  never dangerous fourth. The second was in the Jessamine on the turf over a route trip where once again she finished back in the field and never really showed up. She comes back to six furlongs today which may be the trick and i think turf is ultimately her best surface.

3  Little Miss Fast    Chili King Stables    Lezcano A

Started well enough but has failed to really step up on those performances. Some good turf works forced her trainer to switch to that surface for her last start and she showed speed from a wide gate finishing fifth in the end just a length off the winner in a one win allowance. The draw will suit her much better today and she is thereabouts if she puts her best foot forward.

4  Northern Bay    Gdp Inc                 Cohen D

Won on dirt before being switched to turf and won one on that surface too when a game winner in her last start. Her works are very good but she hasn’t really set the world on fire so far but gets a chance today to run up to her works from a handy draw.

5  Hey Good Lookin    Luz International    Alvarado J

Won two on the trot over a sprint trip but failed in the Natalma when stepped up to the mile. Back to sprinting today she looks to have a good chance on her gritty win in the Bolton Landing where she won well from a wide draw.

6  La Marine Ancienne   Greeko Holdem    Maragh Ro

Won three in a row and was then claimed from her last start. She lost her unbeaten record in her first start for the new trainer when taking on the grade 3 Matron but a wide draw saw her spat into the lead by the wide gate speed push and like most that happens to she weakened late to finish last. That effort wasnt as bad as it looks on paper and this is a much easier race and a much better draw will help her get back some of her claim.

7  Drumming Dali    Greeko Holdem    Luzzi M J

Took five races to win her maiden but did so nicely over this trip last time out ad may be improving with her racing. She has always been a good worker and her two starts before her last start win were on an off track so that may be part of the reason that she took her time to get that first win.

8  Levi Sneaky    Estero Farms    Davis D

Finished behind Hey Good Lookin in the Bolton Landing but then went on to run a  cracker in the grade three Matron leading at the furlong marker but just getting run down in the end, finishing fourth. The draw should just about be OK and she is working well for a trainer that is winning black type races like they are allowances.

9  Curley Sue    D J C Racing Stables   Fragoso P

Won her maiden on her second start but was then beaten out of sight in an allowance on rain affected ground. She is clearly better than that but this wide draw will test her and i am not sure she can win.

10  Another Chai    Winning Link Stables   Carmouche K

Won her maiden last start and is working like a nice type on turf suggesting this first effort on grass will show some improvement. I like her a lot but this wide gate may just be too much to overcome.

SUMMARY

Not a great race, but there are a few nice ones here, and it will be a close race. Levi Sneaky must have a chance, and if she does, then Hey Good Looking must have too. Outside those two Drumming Dali could run a race, and if Another Chai gets some favors from the draw devil, then she could be in it too.
