1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $250.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st        Forever Phooey Party        Night Rider Stables        Lezcano J

It has been a while between drinks for this one after her nice win in the Beldame last October but she bounced right back here to her very best. She clearly needs this ninth furlong or further as her best form seems to be over this trip or further and she has been outpaced over shorter trips. Traveling off a solid enough pace today she picked them up and put them down in the stretch to win by a length.
This win wont help her handicap mark much but one feels that she will make her mark in races over the longer distance.

2nd       Pink N Bold       Iolaus Racing           Davis D

Another that likes a test of stamina she ran a nice race to get second in her first start in graded company this year. She still races off a decent handicap mark after this run so i think there is still a decent win in her before the end of the year.

3rd        Querencia       Smokey Stover           Cedillo A

Went to the lead and set a decent pace but as usually happens she found it hard to see the race through and weakened late. With a mile work at 1.36 and 1 you have to wonder why she couldn’t see out this ninth furlong. Maybe she is a miler plain and simple but at the end of the day she is struggling to live up to that work.

4th        Beldame        D J C Racing Stables           Bridgmohan S X

The trainer seems to have an outside draw in all the races i write up recently and the horses always seem to end up with a similar fate. Stalking from the ten gate she toiled in the stretch off the decent pace but did well to hold on for fourth.
