Three Year Old Fillies

Here we have a field of eight three year old fillies that are going to be entering the gate for this years running of the grade two Mother Goose here at Belmont Park. All but one is coming out of a stakes race so it is a quality field. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Dawn The Destroyer (4-2-1-0 $115.780), trained by Mb Stables

The first filly in the field right here and she is coming into this race off of a second place finish in the Critical Eye which was a New York bred stakes race. She wound up on the lead that day which wasn’t good. If she comes from off the pace here she might have a chance to hit the board.

2. Totally Baroque (7-2-3-0 $607.240), trained by Fractious

And my top pick in the field right here as this filly has ran second in the Kentucky Oaks and the Acorn in her last two starts. She ran close in both of those races and I think this is the one where she pulls through and get the win in this race. She is my top pick.

3. Test Of Time (12-4-2-1 $273.200), trained by La Canada Racehorses

This filly here seems to be maybe the speed of the speed especially if she runs like she did last out in the grade two Summertime Oaks when she won wire to wire. She used her speed that day to get a very nice win and if she can do that same thing in here she will be tough to beat.

4. High On Haggis (8-2-1-2 $66.960), trained by Winning Link Stables

Another one that is coming out of the Summertime Oaks right here and this filly ran third in that race. She was closing late that day and with some more distance she could have possibly got there. I think she has a decent chance in this race also.

5. Cover Girl (6-3-0-0 $102.480), trained by Aml Racing

Here we have a filly that is coming out of the grade two Black Eyed Susan where she ran fourth. She was on that early lead that day but she just couldn’t hold them off. She does seems to like to be close to the pace so if she can slow it down up top she will have a decent chance.

6. Book Of Aggravation (11-3-3-2 $375.340), trained by Estero Farms

Another one that is coming out of the grade two Black Eyed Susan right here but this filly was the winner of that race. She ran a very big race that day and won by half a length. I think if she improved just a little bit off of that win she will be tough in here.

7. Copper Crest (5-2-1-1 $40.780), trained by Gdp Inc

And now to this filly who is coming into the race off of two wins in a row. She beat statebred maiden special weight company and than an allowance field at Lone Star Park. A huge jump up in class here and I am not quite sure if she is ready for the jump yet.

8. Golden Hour (8-2-2-0 $106.360), trained by D J C Racing Stables

And the final runner in the field right here is coming into this race off of a fourth place finish in the Critical Eye against New York breds. She didn’t fire her best shot that day I don’t think. She has a tough post to overcome and I don’t know if she can handle this level of competition either.

Summary

A good field of eight has been entered here and there is at least three or four that have very strong possibilities of getting the win. My top pick is Totally Baroque as she just seems to be a hair over the rest of these. Good luck to all in the field.
