Twenty-two for the career and two straight in The Seaway for Lady Sammyantha

The Seaway Stakes

7 Furlongs on Dirt Grade 3 – Purse $150.00 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward
Woodbine Racetrack Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The rains came down heavy and often Friday night and the track was listed as sloppy for the Seaway Stakes today and there were no scratches. Lady Sammyantha from The Sidley Stud took over on the far turn, opened up a cushion and then held them off late to get win number twenty-two in the books. This fine mare just keeps firing on all cylinders for her connections. Congrats to all of them for a job well done. In case you didn’t notice, that was her second straight victory in this event, awesome! Our second pick was Barossa Valley from Mo Mentum Farm and she did not dissapoint as she came storming home late to grab the silver medal in a solid effort. Devil Slayer from Maxmillion Farm was our third pick and made us look real good by gunning for the lead and hanging on for the last spot in the trifecta. Neon Sara from TwinTowers Racing came running on nicely enough to grab the last spot in the superfecta at a big price and looks to be headed in the right direction.

Of The Rest;

Grand Rover from Black N Gold Stable dropped back to last during the run down the backside and then came on to run fifth.

Western Espresso from Nakamura Stables ran a decent race given what she was up against and looks like a three year old filly to watch for as she develops.

Viking Cat from Bigchief Stables showed enough speed to track in a mid-pack position and then tired to run seventh.

Shared Adversity, also from TwinTowers Racing, showed some gas, but tired around the far turn to end her day in eighth.

Chilly from La Canada Racehorses had her consistency broken today and appeared to not like the track conditions or the competition as she was sent harder than expected towards the front and then stopped to run last.
