Very Nice Field for The Nassau Stakes

The Nassau Stakes – GII
5/30/20
WO Race 6 1M – Turf
Purse $175.000
Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

Only seven have been entered up for this years running of the Nassau Stakes up at Woodbine. It is a one turn mile race which is rare for this distance on the grass. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Perfection Only (6-1-2-1 $58.070), trained by TwinTowers Racing

Just breaking her maiden in her last start and now she will make the jump into this race. She won at Woodbine but this is going to be her first start on the turf. I think she is in above her head in this spot.

2. Prada (7-2-3-0 $171.510), trained by Team 7 Illusions

Unable to win since her victory in the grade three Durante last year but she has been close before. She usually like to be close to the lead so she will need a slow pace up front to hang around and have a chance.

3. Hash Tag Hash (6-3-3-0 $166.800), trained by Estero Farms

A very consistent filly here and she has never been out of the money in any of her career starts. She looks like she is going to be very tough in this field and if she runs her usual race she will he the winner I think.

4. Sheza Kat (7-2-1-2 $147.000), trained by Greeko Holdem

Next up here is a very nice filly who is a stakes winner. She was third in her last start which was the grade three Soaring Softly at Belmont. She was beat a neck that day and the extra distance should help on this track. She could upset this field.

5. Lovin Spoonful (4-3-0-1 $93.830), trained by Nakamura Stables

Coming into this race off of a win in the Memories Of Silver in her last start where she won by a length. She obviously is very talented and seems to be getting very good. I think she stands a very good chance at winning here.

6. Too Scared To Party (6-3-1-1 $189.530), trained by Martyparty

A graded stakes winner right here and she is one who likes to close from the clouds in her races. The tactic has been good for her so far and with this long Woodbine stretch she will be motoring home late. If she can close fast enough she will blow by them all.

7. Reminisce (11-3-1-1 $376.260), trained by Mb Stables

Final filly in the field here and she is coming into this race off of a fourth in the grade three Senorita Stakes. She has ran more times than any runner in the field so experience is on her side. She has a bad post to work out and she may be stacked against it.

Summary

A very nice field of runners here and just about any of the field could win. My top choice is between Hash Tag Hash and Lovin Spoonful. I think Hash Tag Hash gets the nod though. Good luck to all in the field.
