Who Has The Tapable Talent At KD?

The Untapable Stakes
 KD Race #1 6 1/2f Turf Stake

1 Super Fam Team 7 Illusions Corrales G

One thing is for sure it is almost impossible at this time of year to really work out which maiden winner has a class gene and goes on to win these juvenile stakes races. So the darts get thrown at the dartboard and all have a chance of a bullseye when they leave the hand it will just be a question of start, trip and class gene. So what about this one a maiden winner last time on the grass he worked a nice six furlong time on the track and comes from a yard that knows how to breed a good one. Add to that the ace draw which should allow him to position up on the speed and you have a decent chance.

2 Defogged Asgar Silvera Ru

After two pretty average races on the dirt he took to the turf last time and battled on very gamely to win a big ticket maiden at DMR. His works are a tick slower than some but his winning time was competitive enough and he gets the perfect draw today. I do worry about his early pace but of he starts into early mid-pack he should be fighting it out down the stretch.

3 Risky Maneuver Mb Stables Hernandez R M

It is this time of year that the three entries from this stable really start to take hold as they know the importance of getting these horses into the BC races. This one won on dirt on her debut and after just an OK run in the Astoria she switched to turf for a big effort in the Bolton Landing. There isn’t too much stakes form in this race and that is probably the best of it so with a great draw i expect this one to be a warm order in the betting markets.

4 Secret Show Fractious Wenc I C

This is her first effort on the grass and we don’t really have any works to go on so it is a guessing game as to how she will cope with the surface. She didn’t run too badly last time in s ate bred stakes race and showed plenty of early pace which may be needed in a race like this. An unknown quantity but from a stable that knows how to win big races.

5 La Creepy Cat Our Athletes Elliott S

Along with the Mb Stables runner probably has the best form for a race like this although the surface is an unknown as all her four races have been on the dirt. A big ticket maiden winner second up she then ran a close fifth in the Schylerville before running a good second in the ELP Debutante last time out. The trip should suit but her ability o the turf has to be taken on trust.

6 Copper Jewels Winning Link Stables Maldonado E

This one has been laying down the sort of works that suggest she has really come on after her maiden win last time. Her progress has been gradual since her debut in June but she certainly looks like she may be the one if looking for one just outside the square.

7 Miss Fury Mb Stables Rendon J

An easy maiden winner she won in a lightening time at GP and could well be the one from the stable that is an untapped talent. I think she may be above average and will be happy to take odds on her should the odds monkeys over look her.

8 Siri S Gal TwinTowersRacing Gonzalez Ru

A decent work last time puts her in here despite her form being just a touch off most of these. A dead heat winner of her maiden at EMD this is her first race on turf and her work said she will improve for it.

9 Align Mb Stables Rocco J S Jr

Still a maiden but Mb doesn’t even have maidens that can’t work stakes winning times. Impossible to really weigh up and it would be s shock if she managed to beat her stable companions but not a shock to see her in the top four.

10 Pippin Arindel Moran D

Won a big ticket maiden and then a big ticket allowance so is a stakes winner without winning a stakes as far as form and purse money are concerned. She won over this trip which is a huge advantage and is working very slick turf times. I would pick this as my number one choice with an inside draw but gate ten makes it all a bit less a formality.

11 Be Exceptional TwinTowersRacing Lopez P

Gets the car park in her first ever turf run and whilst she won nicely at MTH on the dirt last time she may be up against it. Having said that the stable knows how to get them home and there is a little hack i like to mention now and again and that’s the first run on a new surface, not sure it applies so much to juveniles but with so much against this one that may be a good enough reason to think she can win.

SUMMARY

These juvenile races are always tough to call and this one is no exception. Pippin looks well above average but is at the mercy of the race engine out in gate ten. Miss Fury may just be a special one but this is her big test today so it is far from written in stone yet. I rather like Copper Jewels as a solid each way bet and the two stakes tested horses La Creepy Cat and Risky Maneuver must be in with strong chances.
