Wide Open Skipat Brings Fast Fillies to PIM – PREVIEW

5/15/15 Post Time 3:30pm

RACE 6 PIM    The Skipat Stakes     6f    Dirt

$100.000   3yo&Up   F&M

Five fast fillies will be making their way post-ward on Friday afternoon as we take a look at the field for the 2015 Skipat Stakes, a 6f dash for 3yo&Up fillies and mares.  This is a very evenly matched group for the most part, and I really don’t see a dead-set favorite.  But I’m leaning hard on Euneirophrenia and the home cooking she seems to like.  I wouldn’t call her unbeatable, but she certainly gets my nod.

Here’s the Field…

1
Sabers Chick  Night Rider Stables  McCarthy T 124

Back to back wins after the hostile takeover at the $10.500 level.  Came back for twice that at FG and then took an Alw race over this strip at today’s distance.  Certainly a good story, but can she keep it going here? She’s changed hands a few times and never seemed to have stakes aspirations, but if she can get the job done here, it will be proof to not give up on them too early.

2
Non Lo So  GlueFactory  Toledo J 119

Her three-race win streak came to an end v. stakes horses at WO, and that was at the same distance as they are going today.  She missed by a half-length that day, and certainly shows some real skill.  Her only dud was v. GII horses last season.  She gets some weight help here, being the only 3yo in the race, and that could play to her favor.

3
Indiana Sunstar  Choppy Inc.  Pimentel J 124

She hasn’t won in nearly a year but she’s usually a factor and brings home a check just about every race.  She’s had a tendency to get in front, then back up when the big money is on the line.  She did blow-out over the surface, but it was a muddy run and I just don’t know what she got out of that work.

4
Euneirophrenia  Wolf Ridge Stables  Camacho E 126

Three wins in a row including the Primonetta Stakes over this track and at the distance.  Hard to fault any of that. Same track, distance, condition and weight… even the same pilot.  She’s hard to go past.

5
Miss Sunderstood  Nj Vets  Rivera G A 128

She’s carries high weight off of that GIII win back in Aug of last season, which seems like a lifetime ago.  She hasn’t won since that race, although she has been going in two-turn events, and backs off a bit in this one.  That graded win was over a wet track, so watch the condition here.
