There is always a little advantage for the five year olds around this time of year and they certainly deserve it after a four year old season giving weight to three’s and on levels with older horses. This tough mare won er tenth race today getting up in the final bounds. Recording a 1.07 and 1 for the six on the downhill track he certainly capitalized on the fast pace.

2nd Illustrious Cat John Henry Franco G

The five year old must’ve been gasping for air at the end of this race after stalking the pace down the hill but she still stuck on really bravely and was only overtaken in the final bounds.

3rd Sierra Madre Spankys Barn Rosario J

Came hard late off the fast pace but didn’t have the best of trips. I think this was certainly an improved run but how much she is improved for turning five we will have to find out next time.

4th Diva Delite D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J R

The first four year old home she is in for a tough year first against the older horses and later against the three’s. She ran well enough today beaten just a length that if she makes it to five she may start to add to her already decent record.
