Several Seek Their Signature Win In Fleur de Lis Handicap
As we move into the first weekend of July, there are plenty of stakes to be excited about but CD should get most of the attention with an impressive overall slate of races. The Fleur de Lis Handicap is part of that card, running on Saturday and sending older females nine furlongs around the main track.

Grave Authority Prevails in a Tight Mountain Top Futurity
With eleven two year olds in the starting gate for the Mountain Top Futurity, there was plenty of opportunity for a young horse to step up and get a big win early in their careers. This can be the type of race where a longshot winner will not be unusual at all, nor would a maiden winner be out of the question.

Lady Sammyantha Looks Great in Chicago Stakes Win
Depending on how one wants to determine the status of this Chicago Stakes, and the separate Chicago Stakes that the game lists from 2018 until 2021, Lady Sammyantha may or may not have been a previous winner of this race. It is my personal belief that this is all the same race, so congratulations to the Ginger Haggis mare on winning the stake for the second time in her career.

Promising NM-Bred Juveniles to Run in Mountain Top Futurity
Early season two year old stakes are always fun, especially the statebred ones. The horses are full of promise, and trainers hope that they will develop into the next great thing, and maybe even get to the KYD. There is not much history to look at yet with these young horses, just potential. The statebred stakes also provide a good glimpse at what trainers like to breed in a certain state the most.

Oceanus Headlines the Field for Chicago Stakes
This Saturday at CD, we will have ten older horses going to post for the Grade 3 Chicago Stakes. It is the 14th time that the race has been run, but the third time that it will be held at CD. In 2005, it was contested at AP, and remained there until 2016.

Unexpected Longshot Temperature Wins The Eatontown Stakes
For some reason, Temperature was not liked all that much by the bettors, letting her go off at odds of 75/1, with the next longest shot on the board being at 10/1. This was a surprise, because we did have her as our second choice, so while many may have been surprised by her victory in the Eatontown Stakes, we weren’t as we believed in her all along.

Wayward Prince Sets Stake Record in The MTH Stakes Win
There was plenty of talent in the gate for the MTH Stakes, with a few riding good winning streaks coming into the race. This made for a balanced field and a competitive race. After nine furlongs, it would be the most lightly raced horse getting the job done. Wayward Prince is a four year old, but had only made nine starts up to this point.

Six Head To The Gate For The Eatontown Stakes
The Eatontown Stakes has similar conditions to the MTH Stakes, just being for females. It will go a little more than a mile on the turf course, and runs for the 17th time. It has always been a Grade 3 over that time, and the $150.000 purse level has been constant as well.

A Competitive Race Is Affirmed for The MTH Stakes
We will have a field of nine going to post for Saturday’s running of The MTH Stakes, which is a nine furlong race on the turf. Trainers will need to keep an eye on the skies for this one, because as of press time, there is a 60% chance of rain at the track for race day.

For Night Rider Stables, A Sexy Back-to-Back in The Metropolitan Handicap
Last year, Sexy Back finished sixth in the BC Dirt Mile. Now, we know that he will get a chance to do better this year, as the six year old gelding was not hindered by his outside post and took care of business in The Metropolitan Handicap with a strong stretch run, getting up for the win just in time.
