  • Differing Paths Meet at The Forty Niner Handicap

Formerly known as the Kelso Handicap, a field of eleven comes together on Saturday to contest the 20th running of the rebranded Forty Niner Handicap at AQU. It’ll be the second time that race is run here, having been at BEL through 2021 until moving to the Big A in 2022.

  • Penalty Shot Sets His Sights on The Bold Ruler Goal

It’s time to take a look at the highlight of the day on Friday at AQU, which is the 19th running of the Bold Ruler, which is a six furlong sprint. The race has gone back and forth over the years, with most editions of the race occurring at BEL, but on three previous occasions, it has been here at the Big A (2009, 2019, and 2022).

  • Sin City Girlz Opens Up Then Hangs on to Win Dowager

Long races on the turf are nothing new for Sin City Girlz, and in a race that seemed to lack a major headliner, her experience in races like the Glens Falls and Flower Bowl seemed to be valuable for the Dowager, and with that we made her our pick to win.

  • Late Run Gives Smokin Cara Raven Run

It came down to the wire, and a tight photo for the stewards to look at closely between Smokin Cara and Shadow State, but in the end, it would be Smokin Cara getting the headbob at the very last moment in order to prevail in the Raven Run.

  • Dowager Is Truly a Wide Open Race

Seven fillies and mares will be heading to the starting gate on Sunday for the 17th running of the Dowager, a race that will take them the maximum mile and a half around the turf course at KEE. The Dowager was an ungraded stake originally, and would receive it’s graded designation in 2015.

  • Raven Run Draws a Field of Nine

While many trainers are beginning to think about the BC in a couple of weeks, there is still plenty of entertaining races to hold us over until then. This Saturday at KEE, we get one of those races as a generous $350.000 purse is being offered in the 19th running of the Grade 2 Raven Run.

  • Five Horses, Two Winners in Sycamore

There may not have been anything spooky that took place on Friday the 13th’s running of the Sycamore, but what we did see was twelve furlongs not being enough to have a single winner. After running the full distance, a dead heat was the result, coming between our pick in the preview, Anemoi, and Real One.

  • Anemoi Looks to Bring the Pain in Sycamore

It’s Friday the 13th, and five horses will be spending the day going a full mile and a half around the KEE turf course for the 19th running of the Grade 3 Sycamore. It’s a race that last year saw the purse get increased to $300.000 after traditionally being anywhere between $100.000 and $150.000.

  • Stinky Rene Runs Swiftly In Stretch To Capture Taylor Stakes

It’s almost hard to believe that just two months ago at the Beverly D, I was looking at that race and saw Stinky Rene has being an unlikely candidate to win. Something has happened with this filly, and whatever it is that TwinTowersRacing figured out to get her to finally show the ability that he always knew that she had, it has translated into victories.

  • Demanding Commander Painlessly Prevails in First Lady

You know it’s a fantastic day of virtual racing when a $750.000 Grade 1 isn’t big enough to get into an eight-race Pick ’em! That’s because it was not a “win and you’re in” race for the BC, but in spite of that, you can count on several horses from this race running in the BC at SA next month. Demanding Commander was not one of them in 2022 despite having a good season that saw her win close to $700.000.
