Tough Field for The ONT Fashion Stakes

                 The ONT Fashion Stakes- GIII
                          WO Race 2 6F- Dirt
                            Purse $125.000
Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

A field of seven fillies and mares will be lining up here at Woodbine for the ONT Fashion Stakes and this race will be run on a sloppy track this year and that did make one of the original eight entries scratch. There are some very good horses in this race and it should be a very exciting race also.

1. Speak Now (23-8-6-3 $344.090), trained by Hambletonian Stable

Well right here we have a filly who is be representing Ontario because she is an Ontario bred running in this open stake at Woodbine and if she runs likes she did last time she could be very tough to beat. She won by four lengths last time but that was going two turns. She will have to cut back to a sprint and run a big race.

2. Rocket Fuel (11-4-3-0 $227.540), trained by Team 7 Illusions

Scratched

3. Returned (3-2-1-0 $70.460), trained by Axeman

Now here is very lightly raced filly who will be making a jump up in class for her first test to see if she hang with some graded stakes runners. She has been impressive in her two wins but that was in a maiden special weight and a starter allowance. I think she has a good chance to win this race though.

4. Wbf Paint The Town (10-4-0-2 $155.360), trained by Estero Farms

Right here we have a New Mexico bred filly coming from the Derby winners barn Estero Farms and he has got this filly running good as of late with two stakes wins in a row. If she can keep her streak alive she will have a very good chance in here but just like all the rest she will have to run a big race to win.

5. Dolphins Bay (13-5-3-1 $163.360), trained by Jokerjoes

I covered this filly last time when she ran in the Charles Town Oaks when she ran second by a nose and I remember thinking she didn’t have much of a chance last time but she ran a huge race and only got beat by a nose that day. If she runs that same race she will have a pretty good shot to win.

6. Thalassa (10-2-4-2 $73.230), trained by Maxmillion Farm

Now this filly is making a big jump in class from some starter allowances to this graded stakes level but I think she has a decent chance in this field. She has some pretty quick works and she has been running good lately so if she makes this jump in class she will have a pretty decent shot to win.

7. Rented Mule (11-3-1-3 $218.760), trained by Angelos Stable

Another one who is coming out of the Charles Town Oaks where she ran third by half of a length. She was coming with a closing run that day and making up ground late. So in this race she will most likely need a fast pace too close into. I think with a fast pace and if she runs her race she has a chance.

8. British Chai (10-2-3-1 $237.470), trained by Mo Mentum Farm

This filly finally got her maiden win three races back when she won a maiden special weight at Saratoga and then rattled off another win and then ran second last out in a stakes race. She is grade one placed as a maiden so she has a lot of class and I am going to make her my top choice in this field.

Summary

This race definitely has some good fillies and mates in it and I think every single horse in here has a decent chance to win for sure. I am going to go with the outside runner British Chai as my top choice but I think someone like Dolphins Bay will also have a very good chance to win. Good luck to all in the race.
